Minutes of Meeting 14th May 2009

Present:  Kevan Tongue, Mike Tyson, Brian Garret,  Jo Bailey, Stephen Case, Pat Shaw, Jackie Moore, Sue Francis,  Derek Cliff, PCSO Pete Davies, Janet Morgan.

 

Matters Arising from Previous Meeting:

 

Minutes agreed for March.

 

Holly bush at entrance to the Saltings has been cut back.

 

Police Update:

 

Updates emailed to neighbourhood watch – notice board now in library.

PC Steve Thornton now in charge of enforcement at Bodmin.

No smoking outside Lynton Tavern doors in effect.

When youths active on estate after 9pm – youths taken by car to parents.

30% decrease in youth behaviour at Bodmin since Section 30 enforcement.

Problems at Torrington –

Antisocial behaviour and cars racing up and down street – householders in Torrington should phone the police (only 1 complaint has been received in 2 months and 2 phone calls to police).

Section 30 enforcement ends on June 15th:-

           Letter to be sent to Rob Pilling to see if the section can be enforced throughout the summer.

A request for police presence at Torrington late on Saturday night.

Rota system trying to be setup at Weeping Cross.

30 youngsters to meet in private houses at the weekend to keep them off the streets.

 

Grants update:

 

Meeting with Wendy Hall:-

Feedback from school children as to what facilities they would like at the various parks.

20 application forms acquired for various funding for play sites.

Some kind of business plan is needed for applications.

 

Treasurer:

 

Balance carried forward is £2779.51

 

Any Other Business:

 

Sue Francis mentioned that there will be restrictions on road parking around St. Anne’s school coming into force.
