Minutes of Meeting 24th March 2011

 

Present:

Matters Arising from Previous Meeting:

 

Notice board now installed. No response to letter about traffic from council. Bench outside shops mentioned by people being canvassed. Jonathan will check on planning permission needed.

 

Treasurers Report:

 

Received £100 from Mayors charity fund. Balance is £2306.

 

Police Update:

 

4th Feb – damage to bus shelter and offender identified.

19th Feb – burglary of copper at police houses and arrest made.

23rd Feb - theft from garden in Yelverton.

14th Mar – door sellers Id checked.

22nd Mar – theft of dishwasher left out by scrap merchant.

23rd Mar – health centre gate damaged.

 

Local Councillors Update:

 

Ann Edgeller:

Stockton Lane fence needs to get planning permission by May.

Notice board needs key holders and content.

Railway bridge crack needs investigation.

Pothole at Lynton Tavern to be repaired by council.

Planning app extension for houses behind Newquay appealed and decision awaited.

Footpath outside shops needs proper repair after Nat grid works.

2 new houses in Porlock without garages need attention at front.

Lynton tavern fencing still needs planning approval.

 

Sub-Groups:

                          

Older people: Tuesday club well attended. Transport a problem for some – could Community Link scheme help? Or could the Walton school bus be borrowed if not in use – Pete Davies will check.

Need ideas for more activities and talks, plus funding after May (poss Community wellbeing fund). It was proposed and accepted that BCG would fund the club after May for 8 wks (£240).

 

Community Cohesion: Newsletter quote of £500 for 4 pages printed and distributed to 3000. Website could be better used if more content – currently 800 hits month. History event to be organized and Kim investigating options.

 

Other Business:

 

John Griffin spoke about defibrillator at Lodgefield Park.

No link to BCG from crime mapping website.
