New network of local bus services in Stafford

 Make the right connection with Arriva’s new network of local bus services in Stafford  

  •  Brand new Sunday service between Rickerscote and Stafford Town Centre
  •  Services 74 & 75 extended to serve Staffordshire University
  •  New Sunday service 74 between Cannock – Stafford – Stafford Hospital and Staffordshire University
  •  Service 825 extended to serve Stafford Hospital & Staffordshire University*
  •  Hospital visitors retain through ticketing from Baswich with connections at South Walls
  •  Through ticketing from Moss Pit to Parkside with connections at Gaol Square

Arriva customers in the Stafford area are set to benefit from a raft of improvements to their local bus services from Sunday 4 July 2010 following lengthy consultation with Staffordshire County Council – the transport co-ordinators for the area.

Arriva will be holding one of its popular roadshow events in Stafford’s Market Square on Tuesday 29 June 2010 from 10am till 3pm where local bus users will be able to pick up copies of their new timetable leaflets and bus guides, Arriva’s Promotion Team will also be available to answer any questions on our local bus services.

Here are the details of the changes to your bus routes and times for the Stafford area:

Service 1: Coton Fields – Stafford - Baswich
Revised route and timetable. Service retimed, running up to every 30 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday and up to every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday evenings and Sundays. Route revised to operate between Stafford Town Centre and Baswich no longer serving Stafford Hospital and Coton Fields. Service 1 commences from and terminates at Gaol Square, Stafford Town Centre. For buses between Weeping Cross, Stafford Town Centre and Stafford Hospital see services 74 and 825 and between Stafford Town Centre and Coton Fields see service 11. Customers travelling from Baswich on service 1 and wishing to cross Stafford Town Centre to Stafford Hospital or Staffordshire University (or vice versa) can purchase a through single journey ticket and transfer onto services 74, 75 and 825 at South Walls towards Hospital/University or Gaol Square for journeys towards Baswich.

Service 1A: Stafford – Wildwood - Baswich
Service withdrawn. Monday to Saturday evening buses replaced by service 1 and continue to divert via Wildwood between Stafford and Baswich.

Service 2:  Stafford – Hillcroft Park – Walton on the Hill
Revised route and timetable. Service retimed to run up to every 60 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday between Stafford Town Centre and Walton on the Hill, with one journey extending to and from Bednall, Brocton and Milford on Monday to Friday replacing service 2A. Service 2 commences and terminates at Gaol Square, Stafford Town Centre. Service 2 operates in both directions around Hillcroft Park following feedback from customers.

Service 2A:Stafford – Milford – Brocton – Bednall
Service withdrawn and replaced on Monday to Friday with extended journeys on service 2.

Service 3: Stafford - Wildwood
Revised route and timetable. Service retimed to run up to every 30 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday. Monday to Saturday evening buses on service 1 will divert to serve Wildwood. Service 3 commences and terminates at Gaol Square in Stafford Town Centre.

Service 4: Stafford – Sandon Road – Oxford Gardens
Service withdrawn. Services 5 and 5A will continue to serve Sandon Road.

Service 5: Stafford – Sandon Road – Hopton – Weston – Hixon
Service 5A: Stafford – Sandon Road – Stafford Technology Park – Weston - Hixon
Revised timetable. Services 5 and 5A will commence from and terminate at Chell Road.

Service 6: Stafford - Rickerscote
Revised route and timetable. Service revised to run between Stafford and Rickerscote. Section of route between Stafford and Doxey will be renumbered 12. Service 6 will run up to every 20 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday and up to every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday evenings along with a brand new Sunday bus service. Service 6 will commence from and terminate at Gaol Square, Stafford Town Centre.
 
Service 7: Stafford – Merrivale Road – Ten Butts Crescent
Service withdrawn. Replaced by service 76 running up to every 60 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday and providing additional journey to current service. Service 76 provides a direct service to Penkridge and Wolverhampton.

Service 8: Stafford – Moss Pit
Revised route and timetable. Service revised to run between Stafford and Moss Pit. Section of route between Stafford, Trinity Fields and Parkside renumbered 10. Service 8 will run up to every 15 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday and up to every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday evenings and on Sunday. Service 8 will terminate in Gaol Square, and commence from Chell Road in Stafford.

Service 9: Stafford - Highfields
Revised route and timetable. Service revised to run between Stafford and Highfields with buses no longer running through to Stafford Hospital and Staffordshire University. Customers travelling to Stafford Hospital and Staffordshire University can connect with services 74, 75 and 825 at South Walls. Return journeys connect at Gaol Square. Service 9 will run up to every 15 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday and up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday evenings and Sundays. Service 9 will commence from and terminate at Gaol Square, Stafford Town Centre. Customers travelling from Highfields on service 9 and wishing to cross Stafford Town Centre to Stafford Hospital or Staffordshire University (or vice versa) can purchase a through single journey ticket and transfer onto services 74, 75 and 825 at South Walls towards Hospital/University or Gaol Square for journeys towards Highfields.

Service 10: Stafford – Trinity Fields - Parkside
New route and timetable. Route 10 replaces part of service 8 between Stafford Town Centre and Parkside running up to every 15 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday and up to every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday evenings and Sunday. Service 10 will commence from Gaol Square and terminate at Chell Road in Stafford Town Centre.

Service 11: Stafford – Corporation Street – Coton Fields
New route and timetable. Route 11 partially replaces service 1 between Stafford Town Centre and Coton Fields running up to every 30 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday. Service 11 terminates in Gaol Square Stafford.

Service 12: Stafford - Doxey
New route and timetable. Service 12 partially replaces service 6 running up to every 30 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday, up to every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday evenings and on Sunday. Service 12 operates via Earl Street, South Walls and Gaol Square in Stafford Town Centre.

Service 66: Stafford – Weston Road High School
No change to route or timetable.

Service 67: St Leonard’s Avenue to Weston Road High School
No change to route or timetable.

Service 72: Parkside – Weston Road
Morning journey from Weston Road to Parkside School withdrawn.

Route 74: Cannock Hospital – Cannock – Huntington – Stafford – Stafford Hospital – Staffordshire University
Revised route and timetable. Service 74 runs up to every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday along with a brand new Sunday service running up to every 120 minutes. Service extended to Staffordshire University. Service 74 will call at Gaol Square towards Cannock.

Service 75: Cannock Hospital – Cannock – Penkridge - Stafford – Stafford Hospital – Staffordshire University
Revised route and timetable. Service 75 runs up to every 60 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday. Service extended to Staffordshire University. Services 75 will call at Gaol Square towards Cannock.

Service 76: Stafford – Penkridge – Brewood - Wolverhampton
Revised route and  timetable. Service 76 continues to run up to every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday and up to every 120 minutes on Sunday. Service diverted to serve Merrivale Road and Ten Butts Crescent replacing service 7. Most journeys diverted to serve Brewood.

Service 432: Stafford – Eccleshall – Woodseaves  / Market Drayton
Revised route and timetable. Service 432 will commence from Gaol Square in Stafford Town Centre, and terminate in Chell Road.

Service 433: Stafford – Eccleshall – Woodseaves - Knightley
Revised route and timetable. introduced. Service 433 will commence from Gaol Square in Stafford Town Centre, and terminate in Chell Road.

Service 481: Stafford – Newport – Telford Town Centre
Revised route and timetable. Service 481 will commence from and terminate at Gaol Square in Stafford Town Centre. Changes to Monday to Saturday early morning and late evening journeys, service 481 continues to run up to every 30 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday, up to every 60 minutes during the evening and every 60 minutes on Sunday.

Service 482: Stafford – Derrington – Marston
Revised route and timetable. Service 482 will commence and terminate at Gaol Square in Stafford Town Centre.

Service 825: Stafford – Rugeley - Lichfield
Revised route and timetable. Buses continue to run up to every 30 minutes daytime Monday to Saturday and up to every 60 minutes Monday to Saturday evenings and Sundays.  Most Monday to Saturday daytime journeys continue toStafford Hospital. Most Evening and Sunday buses also serve Staffordshire University. Service 825 will call at Gaol Square towards Lichfield.

Service 841: Stafford – Hixon - Uttoxeter
Revised route and timetable. All journeys will serve Kingston Hill, Tixall, Great Haywood, Little Haywood and Colwich between Stafford and Hixon. Journeys terminating at Hixon will serve Pasturefields.  Service extended up to every 120 minutes to Uttoxeter via Stowe-by-Chartley and Bramshall replacing service 842. Service 841 will commence and terminate at Eastgate Street in Stafford Town Centre.

Service 842: Stafford – Hixon - Uttoxeter
Service withdrawn. Replaced by revised service 841.
