Minutes of Meeting 12^th March 2009

Present: Kevan Tongue, Mike Tyson, Brian Garret, Dorothy Garrett, Joe Bailey, Stephen Case, Pat Shaw, Jackie Moore, Sue Francis, Derek Cliff.

Matters Arising from Previous Meeting:

Minutes agreed for February.

Feedback from Yelverton Fields Sub-committee:

Sue Francis has met with Sally Macdonald re money. It is £16400 after legal fees and this is ring fenced and approved. It would be OK for matched funding but it could lead to a delay in tendering.

Grants:

Jackie reported that she had not seen Wendy Hall but had spoken to her and possible dates given. Also mentioned a Playbuilder fund for Stafford which can be applied for twice yearly. This years has been assigned but possibility for 2010. Also after April money may be available for Design-play England for 8-13 yr olds from anti-social fund.

Maintenance and insurance needs to be clarified.

Walton and Community Learning Partnership also provide funding – needs to be explored to see if association can access it.

Police Update:

No attendance but report given. Both PCSOs are off at the moment. Kevan to report to Stephanie that a police presence is requested for the end of term concern re gang at back of co-op during the evening. Possibility of BCG writing letter to police expressing concern at the ‘softly softly’ approach to disturbances by young people in the area.

Any Other Business:

Letter from Barratts re Saxonfields. Sue to clarify situation.

Opposite the entrance to Saltings is a holly bush which is obstructing / encroaching on to highway. Kevan recommended that Clarence be contacted.
